Project Experience

Walz Maintenance Services has the capabilities and experience to accommodate all clients' maintenance requirements, from coal wash plants to heavy earth moving equipment to shiploader maintenance.


Current Maintenance Projects

  • NRG site maintenance contract - maintenance work on train uploading station, CHPP, conveyor systems and stacker / reclaimers. We have been completing maintenance duties on site for the past 10 years.
  • Anglo Coal field maintenance contract - Callide Mine and Boundary Hill. Walz Maintenance is in its second year on site where it completes all planned outages on equipment from the ‘2 dragline’ to the coal plants.
  • GPC site maintenance and overhauls of all in loading and out loading equipment, Walz have been working on site at GPC for the past 20 years. During this time we have also played a major part in the past 5 upgrade projects that have been complete on site.
  • Curragh overland conveyor and wash plant maintenance - site maintenance works on site at Wesfarmer Curragh for the past five years, which also includes planned shut downs on all fixed plant.
  • Carborough Downs wash plant and overland conveyor upgrade - this is a current project that has a total work force of 120 personnel, which has been running for the past six months and is due to be completed by early 2010.

Completed Outage Projects

  • CQPA out load conveyor and wharf upgrades - completed late 2008 and included the construction of eight new coal stock pile areas, a second approach and four berth construction and conveyor systems.
  • QCL (Cement Australia) shut downs and maintenance works - completion of works on cement ‘mill two’ installation and conveyor system and product line upgrade onsite.
  • Dalrymple Bay out loading upgrade - included installation of new conveyor systems, 500t coal storage bin and transition area. Work was complete over a 18 month period with a total of 200 personnel on site
  • Ensham mine de-watering and recovery of Drag line and equipment from pit areas, work was completed over a 6 month period with a total of 45 personnel.
  • Cement Australia cement mill # 2 installation and conveyor system upgrade project. Project duration was completed over 11 months working alongside cement Australia personal during project.
